Horror - Photoshop
With this project I had to draw 3 different stand stills of my project, and they had to be of relevant areas from within my level that had created.
Evaluation Of The Photoshop Medium.
This one has been done within Photoshop and is of the area ToyWorld.
ToyWorld is the main horror aspect of my level, making it an important part. Within Photoshop i started to create a snapshot view.
This took a bit of time to create, this is due to the different elements within the drawing.
For each element of the drawing, there was a different layer. This was so I could easily go back on myself if needed and tweak something within a specific layer.
This is also good for when you might need to do over and behind segments, this will make it so that if you are working behind one layer, you can not accidental affect the layer above, because they are not directly linked.
With this picture as a whole, I am not entirely happy with the out come that has occurred. To me this does not look like it would be up to professional standards, this is because the line work within the drawing is a sketchy rather than crisp.
Also another thing about this art piece I am not completely happy with, is that the texture of the objects do not match that to the image that I had in mind. However, I think that I obtained the closes, possible, to what I was imagining them to be like.
One of the positives that I find about this piece is the vibrancy of the colours in the art. For this is supposed to be an impression of a room with enlarged toys within, kids paraphernalia is usually brightly coloured and eye catching.
Another thing about this that I like is the positioning of the objects within and the perspective. I think that even though the perspective is not exact, it still looks pretty good visually.
The lighting within the art is quite good, the light within this picture comes mainly from one direction, that direction is pointed out by the black arrow at the top of the image.
In the same way though, the shadowing in the art is not as noticeable as it probably should be. This is making the image look more two dimensional rather than three dimensional.
The grime within the art is not as self explanatory as I would like it to be. But the patchiness of it is what I wanted it to be like. I makes the wall look aged and old. This is the look I was going for because it make it look more decrepit.
The fog at the bottom of the screen is exactly what I wanted it to be, however, some of the people that have looked at this image could not see it to be fog because of the colour, however when it is put into the level, the fog will be more clear as to what it is.
All in all, I am happy with what i have achieved with this art piece. I an happy with the overall turn out of the drawing.
If i was to do it again I would make sure that the lines I make are crisp and that the shadows within the art would be more prominent and clear.
